I'm assuming that they're using a Liraglutide similar which will help sop up any excess blood glucose in the brain. If the pathogen isn't fed, then perhaps the brain's immune system can successfully attack whatever pathogen is causing the problem.

I still think that anyone who is able to identify the root cause of AD in an individual pt without doing a full brain biopsy; and then develop a tx for that root cause will probably cure the disease.

I suspect that it's a family of diseases caused by different pathogens with Herpes Virus being a major cause.

I also suspect that existing anti-virals, etc. will be effective, but not profitable.
