The reason for the chipped passports is to protect your allowance into this country when you return from abroad.

If you don't want one don't travel overseas. You do realize that by being born and living in this country you are probably more fortunate than 3/4 of the people living on this earth.

You're whining about a national ID card but guess what if you drive a car you in some way already have one if you have a driver's license. Geesh get over the BS and worry about who is tapping your phone.
