More than anything, it gives me tons of happiness that we have bid for Air India.
I worked on many transactions but this one is emotion filled....
The airline is the story of millions of Indian Passengers (Parents especially) it carries all the time India - US - India... It is the airline that is started first by JRD Tata...
It is the airline the staff who served selfless in this recent pandemic...
I have put 51% as EV difference to be given to the employees for their dedication to the airline..
Tomorrow once acquired, I will be owning these thousands of employees with all their stories and lives...making this company a behemoth in social values...
This said, it is not at all correct for one to say Air India is not a worthy investment..
It owns quite a piece of intangible assets...the landing rights, air routes, ground handling, training and maintenance...and the staff experience - no other airline can beat or match its strength...
The airline needs financial rejig...
I cannot comment but we are in discussions to buyout substantial stake in another airline and this will help us consolidate us into a solid position in the aviation sector with focus on India.
