Market Share Gains Continue, Record Month SD 24/7 Program
South Dakota 24/7 December 2020 numbers have been released by the Attorney General of SD in their monthly report. The patch continues to gain market share, and had it’s highest monthly share ever, following a month that it had it’s highest market share ever.
(1) Since the start of the pandemic, in the nine months ending December 31, the market share for the number of participants being drug tested on the patch is 38%, and the market share for urine testing is 62%. This compares to a pre-pandemic market share for the patch around 23% and urine around 77%.
(2) Additionally, recent trends point to more future gains. In December 48 people were given the patch and 56 were tested by urine. That’s a market share of 46%. This represents the highest market share in any month ever. This is not an anomaly either. In November, 42 people were on the patch and 53 were urine tested. That’s a market share of 44%. It was a record market share in any month ever, until December rolled around, and the patch added to the trend.
(3) Drug testing in general appears to be way down post pandemic. I will try to put numbers behind that statement in future reports.
(4) Specifically, the number of participants on the patch in 2020 were 293 down from 391 a year earlier.
