“Big pharma” could have funded their phase 2 trial anytime in the last 3, almost 4 years since the FDA approved it, but didn’t. “Big pharma” could have also stepped in and bought the company during the bankruptcy for a song, the max they’d have had to pay was the total debt, likely would have been much less. But they didn’t.
