Cancel student debt...equals another financial crisis.. and an education crisis. Who is going to give a loan to students to go to school if they do not pay it back? It a trillion dollar plus debt market... cancelling student loans would cause another meltdown in the debt markets.

1) Financial institutions would not give out loans without being paid back. The institutions which lent money go belly up if they do not get paid back.

2) So have the taxpayers pay the student loans?!? Do you want to pay for someone's degree in Art Theory? Or someone who fails out of school but still racks up student loans?


The current system is not great...and there is room for improvement. But student loan forgiveness is not the solution. Having employers hire students and help pay off the debt is a better option...if the student works for the company for a set period of time. Give the employer some tax benefits to do this.

Like that's a guarantee people will buy homes. They're not GETTING money back, they'd just not owe it anymore. Without a job, they still can't get a loan. And why should they get this handout while people in the past had to work to pay off what they signed up for in the first place? And will free college be a thing from that point on? Such nonsense. The left's logic, or lack thereof, is mind boggling.

Canceling student_loans is a double-win for F&F! Not only will graduates have more money to put towards a mortgage payment, students who were saving up for college can now use that money towards a down payment on a house, and just borrow the money for college. After graduation they have both the down payment and money for the monthly payments. This will be a BOOM for F&F and housing in general. I'm investing in both F&F and real estate.

The dog ELIZABETH Warren just said cancel student debt in order for students to buy homes. Can’t be doin that and buying homes without Fannie & Freddie!
