Alertmeipp - while it will be a long time (probably) until I feel like I have enough money to start investing conservatively in CDs, I greatly appreciate Gfp's reminders about the dangers of biotech investing, and the importance of diversity. He's lived it and is speaking from experience.
You and I have both also had that same unfortunate experience recently with large losses in COR, so it's something all COR and biotech investors should constantly remind themselves of.
I've come to realize that as much as I'd like to become comfortably wealthy from good stock investments, I'm wise to spend even more time trying to ensure that I don't become uncomfortably unwealthy due to large losses in the stock market.
Everyone's situation is different, someone with a $1M portfolio can afford to put $100K into COR and swing for the fences, but someone with a $100K portfolio can't and shouldn't take that risk.
Anyway, just a counterpoint that I appreciate Gfp's cautious approach to biotech investing.
