The grocery store line problem! You got it! That has to be it: instead of getting the article out, and introducing the world to a potential cure, and trying to prevent 1000 deaths a day, the researcher just wanted to do a few more tests. Even though the dose for the trial was already set. Plenty of people had already died and so what was the big hurry? The researcher probably was delayed too. They kept getting in the wrong line at the grocery store. They had no luck with stoplights. They forgot their phone and had to run home to pick it up. Soon, before you know it, those delays can add up to what- a month lost! They were going to prepublication with the paper of a lifetime but there were so many delays. After all- it was just 1000 deaths per day, and so much can happen to keep that final draft from getting done. Ha- that line of thinking might be helpful in a work of fiction.....

"Is it useful to articulate every moment to moment doubt? Maybe things just take longer than anyone expected or knew. Maybe Leo is in discussions with another Pharma that requires secrecy while details get worked out. Maybe the RBL researcher was delayed or found something else useful to investigate before writing up her report for peer review. Maybe it was all a ruse to keep the money flow coming so Leo lied about timelines and data?"

Could not agree more with what you state. My 3 year anniversary visit to "The Shoe" in Beverly will be two days after X-mas come this December. Met with Dr Menon because I was concerned about the cratering stock price(it was a lowly ~ 75cents at the time) and the continued delay of p results concerned me. When asked, he said results would likely be out late in the 1st quarter of 2018. They were finally released ~ 11 months later than our meeting date. Those were back in the p days.

Now, as we await announcements of our and the world's most important drug in our lifetime, we await the word, much as I awaited feedback from Dr Menon, oh so long ago. He was out of there ~3 months after our meeting- which is probably why he never returned subsequent phone calls, he was likely busy packing the reams of storage papers/files.

I await, patiently, for a return call.
