But while I love Capitalism and its freedom and wealth creation - I have not doubt we need Social Security and Medicaid and Free (tax based and pooled !) k-12 education (now likely k-14) and common roads and bridges and self defense
I feel confident - right or wrong - that pure capitalism where 99% of the wealth and wages would move to 1% (v 40% or so now) (it is inherent that wages get pushed to the very lowest possible !) -- would prove Karl Marx 100% correct ---- a revolution of the masses would overthrow the GOV
Marx showed how the prior 4-5 economic structures (e.g. mercantalism) all were too rigid and at some point BROKE
he said capitalism is too rigid and will break
We - with adding things like the above and a progressive tax etc. - found a good spot in the middle - to use GWB language a compassionate conservative
