S3 Investment Company Announces Management Changes for Subsidiary Redwood Capital, Inc. to Support Expansion of Operations
Issued Wednesday July 26, 9:40 am ET
TEMECULA, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- Jul 26, 2006 -- S3 Investment Company, Inc. (OTC BB: SEIH), a holding company with two subsidiaries doing business in the China market, today announced several key management changes for subsidiary Redwood Capital, Inc., including the appointment of a new managing director. The management changes are designed to allow Redwood Capital to expand its operations and increase the number of clients it can accommodate through the process of entry into the U.S. capital markets.
Charlie Wu has been appointed to the position of managing director, Li Xiaotao as investment director, Frank Zheng as executive officer and Annie Lian as administration manager.
“As evidenced by the considerable value in the common stock position granted to Redwood Capital for its role in launching private Chinese companies as publicly traded U.S. firms, it makes sense for the company to prepare its infrastructure to handle a greater number of client companies,” said Jim Bickel, chief executive officer of S3 Investment Company. “Not all potential clients will be ideally suited for entrance in the U.S. public markets, and some will take longer to launch than others, so Redwood management has increased the number of clients that the company should ideally have in its pipeline to upwards of 30-40. The addition of highly qualified managers with extensive experience and key contacts in the China business landscape was a key element in this expansion effort. We welcome them aboard.”
Mr. Wu has served in positions ranging from service manager to general manager for foreign companies operating in China. He has extensive knowledge of company operations and is experienced in corporate management.
Li Xiaotao has experience in investment banking with an emphasis in economics, finance and management. His primary responsibility will be to source highly qualified clients for Redwood Capital.
Frank Zheng is a former chief financial officer of several companies and has both theoretical knowledge and practical experience in finance and law. He is familiar with domestic and overseas financial regulations, investment banking operations, such as mergers and acquisitions, and reconstruction, as well as financial and investment consultation. Mr. Zheng will analyze financial statements and draft feasible reports on clients for Redwood Capital and work to ensure that the client company has world-class financial management leading up to and following its planned IPO.
Annie Lian is an attorney whose responsibilities at Redwood Capital will include legal work, company professional procedures, daily operations, and staff support.
“As we have stressed on numerous occasions, including at our recent annual meeting of shareholders, S3 is building its two subsidiaries into companies designed to perform at a level well beyond previous expectations, and they will be structured so that they have the greatest potential to return long-term value to S3 and its shareholders. To accomplish this, we must support the growth of our subsidiaries and provide them with all the resources necessary to capture a greater share of their respective markets. The changes at Redwood Capital are designed to do just that,” added Mr. Bickel.
