Perhaps because there are many more than 5 contestants left. According to the contest rules the remaining contestants now have a limited amount of time to provide a site for limited contest clinical testing -- a clinical laboratory or a hospital laboratory where the contest managers themselves will provide the samples for testing, I believe contrived blood, plasma or saliva.

Registration ended Sept 8, and in 3 business days, they eliminated all those entries to get to semi finalists already? How much did Berman have to pay....um.. I mean.... how could they review all those applications so quickly? ;-)

There's got to be a TON of semifinalists, because on Oct 6 they will name up to 20 finalists.

I'd wager over half of the entries are "semi finalists". I see about 800 entries!

Grand Prize "Early February"
