The unusually large numbers of fires threatening homes has exceeded the ability to do simple structure protection, the number of Calfire inmate slave crews is down because of Covid, so again this year, a lot of property is going to be lost. More and more people are getting the drift that having a designer home on 20 acres of pine forest means good luck on even getting them insured any more.
