Because I turned 60 , I was able to pull my company matched 401k out and roll into a self directed IRA . I left 2k in it and also still contribute because I still work . At 60 yrs old , I couldn’t risk another 50 k haircut. When covid hit luckily I immediately put it in cash , so I only lost a couple grand . TD Ameritrade was very easy to work with .
