Someone should get Barron's to correct their article. Leronlimab is so much more than just an antiviral. I wish I had the list of all the beneficial things it does at the cellular level.

Leronlimab is an antiviral medication that was originally developed for HIV treatment. It’s a “humanized IgG4 monoclonal antibody” that inhibits the ability for a virus to enter a cell. CytoDyn (ticker: CYDY) started testing Leronlimb on Covid-19 patients earlier in 2020.

What the company said Wednesday is that patients given shots of Leronlimb improved more than patients given placebos. The results were statistically significant.

Wednesday evening, small-cap biotech company CytoDyn announced it had asked the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to grant the company’s drug, Leronlimab, an emergency-use authorization to treat mild to moderate Covid-19 cases.

That was likely the good news that sent CYDY south today. My theory why it sells off on good news is big holders wanting to take some profits sell on good news for less likelihood of the share price collapsing under the weight of their selling. Professional short rollers short along with the selling using sophisticated HIgh frequency trading Algos connected to level three market information. The rise mid-day was in part the covering of the morning short pressure. Why short good news? Because less likely more good news for a while. Shorts are rolled up and down with high frequency trading that's why on some days of blow out price assent some stocks trade in a volume of multiples of outstanding shares. It is the same share inventory of the HFT operator traded hundereds or thousands of times a day.
Smoke and mirrors. Sooner of later those profit takers will exhaust the shares they want to sell or the volume of new hot money will overwhelm the volume and it will be longer term buyers accumulating CYDY stock.
