If ABUS were to unreasonably use its IP to attempt to force MRNA to stop marketing a safe effective covid-19 vaccine, how long do you think it would take governments around the world to obliterate ABUS?

No company is going to attempt to block a product that could be key to ending this pandemic. And if they do try, they won't exist for much longer.

If they have a valid right to that patent it would not be ABUS doing blocking.

ABUS/MRNA—

“The [patent] result opens the door to debate around Moderna's entire pipeline, [Leerink analyst] Foroohar said.”

Do you know if he is referring to all future [MRNA] vaccines?

Yes, he is, but note that he used the wishy-washy word, “debate,” which implies doubt about the applicability of ABUS’ patents to MRNA’s various non-COVID-19 programs.

Do you have any backgammon odds of this getting settle out of court?

For the COVID-19 program, specifically, I think the probability of an out-of-court settlement is close to 100% if MRNA’s vaccine is shown to be safe and effective in the phase-3 trial.
