actually, as I posted right before you, the company asked for the halt pending news as per the IIROC

however, Companies are not required to request a halt if news is going to be released during the trading hours, otherwise you would have hundreds of trading halts every day, not the half dozen or see you see these days.

more and more this is used by sleazy companies to make it appear as those incredibly great news is going to come out and typically results in a dud

Canadian company requested news halts are required when releasing news during trading hours.
