#1868 RE: Frank Pembleton #1867

Which just goes to show ...

There is only one way for a doper get caught (well, two, if you count police/criminal probes catching things a doping screen does not), but there are a thousand technicalities on which a doper can get off.

The CAS decision makes it pretty clear by saying:
"Even though Inigo Landaluze benefited from this flawed
procedure to be acquitted, the CAS decision does not constitute
a declaration of his innocence"

This is not unlike Operacion Puerto, where the withdrawal of prosecution gets written up in headlines as "cleared" and "innocent" and "acquitted of all charges", when in fact, there's little doubt about what was going on.

Tell you what, I don't give a darn what Armstrong and Landis take or don't take if they're willing to square off against each other in the Leadville 100. I say, treat that like an "anything goes" race -- dope yourselves to the gills if you want. Just be sure to get the elbows sharpened and out on the trail for a real mano a mano showdown. Perhaps the race organizers could arrange to offer time bonuses for extra creative hand gestures and/or extremely loud vocal insults. Hehehe, that would be fun.
