Merkel and Trump were destined to clash. A former scientist, she is cool, cautious, self-contained, fact-oriented and quiet despite her toughness. Trump is ... none of those things.
I did not know Angela was a former scientist...just adds to my respect I have for her. Dump gets none of those things.
Trump's strategy of lies, disinformation (h/t Angela M, i've used misinformation in relation to Trump-speak too many times whereas disinformation would, in as many cases, be more suitable), misrepresentation and appeal to such worst virtues as hate and bigotry are all negative. Whereas Merkel's approach "cool, cautious, self-contained, fact-oriented and quiet despite her toughness." is all positive.
