speaking of Leadville ...

That's the little Colorado town that plays host a big racing confab in August each year -- the infamous Leadville 100 trail footrace, as well as the Leadville 100 mountain bike race.

Speaking of the latter ... guess who's committed to race the Leadville 100 mountain bike race next August? None other than Lance Armstrong.

If that were to happen, it presents one heck of a bonanza for the Leadville organizers -- they should be able to sell the TV rights for a nice chunk of change to Versus or ESPN, etc. (geez I'd like to rap the knucklehead who thought up that new name for OLN upside the head!!!)

Hey, I would DEFINITELY tune in to watch Floyd and Lance butt heads in that race. That would be a hell of a throwdown! I'd especially like to watch them through the early descents -- love to see the competitive fire pushing up against the line between fast/dangerous and crazy/stupid.

Of course, if Floyd wins his case, he will not be there, as this race is August 11. (Gee, exactly how incompetently screwed up is his camp sending out press releases saying he's going to race the Leadville in August as preparation for the Tour in July. Doh!!). Then again, if he loses, it sure beats sitting at home playing video games!
