Sorry but it does not represent that at all. The Nasdaqs gross comments on the subject are designed to help the biggest customers who are Net short the market, which is the offsetting balance of the Net long position, in fact the Short Open interst which destroyed investor accounts has remained at growth rates above that required to do the damage between March 00 and March 03.

Light volume is demonstrating the lack of sellers, because just the opposite conditions exist. Mr Markets trying to kick in some churn, because Mr Markets on the wrong side of the trend...

Furthermore if Nasdaq had credibility it would publish its gross float , its open short interest against that float up front where everyone can see it...No the Nasdaqa credibility is the issue here, it says what it says because it can.

I live by the axiom that the missing information is the information we all most need.

Are short sales considered margin debt? Is there any way of tracking how much of the short positions are on borrowed money. Borrowed shares on borrowed dollars could go a long way when the market continues to move against that wager.
