It is unfortunate that some details were added inside the quote in the original press release, but they were not egregious, and aside from them not being quotable, the details are true.

What she did say is very positive!

The differences are interesting. Not great lies, the intent is essentially the same, and the city web page has happened. I'm curious about what happened with the copy and the communication, but it reads more like rewording to add detail that should not have been presented as a quote vs. an intent to falsely represent. I'm not saying that misquoting someone is ok, but because it's not materially egregious, I'm inclined to judge it amateur and inappropriate. Judge for yourself. It's a mistake, but not enough to make me sell this low:

Original

Quote:We are proud to partner with Tri Cascade in this first beta deployment of their outdoor air monitoring system. We are excited that the City of Rancho Margarita has been chosen as the pioneer this new technology. Our City is committed to providing our residents with the safest and best air quality community in California. The system will greatly help us in the monitoring of humidity and temperature conditions for fire risk, as well as helping us monitor noise and potentially dangerous Co2 emissions, should they arise. In this beta test, we are deploying the air quality monitors in three strategic locations throughout the City and intend to provide public access to the monitoring of air quality through a direct link to be provided on the City’s main website page.
