Being a client of AMTD, shouldn't they at least tell us specifically which of their laundry list of items they are concerned about. Isn't that what is really in the best interest of their client. "It's like an attorney saying don't sign that. I can't tell you why, but just don't sign it."

LOL - "You can still place closing transactions" i.e. whatever the problem is we are not concerned about the effect it might have if you SELL - only if you BUY!!!

Let me guess...

None of the specific questions in my email were addressed. Just the same old blah, blah, blah.

Before we restrict a stock to closing transactions only, we closely evaluate the situation with that stock. TD AMERITRADE takes the decision to restrict trading very seriously, and only does so for valid reasons.

Often, we will initially cause all trades to be reviewed first, before we actually restrict the ability to open transactions on that security. While we cannot go into the specific reasons for this restriction, we strongly believe it's in the best interests of our clients and our firm to do so.

Sincerely,

Eric B.

Nothing like making vague enough statements that they can never be proved or disproved to have been of valid intention.

And that's from the brokerage house with the longest list of shady deals investigated by the SEC in the entire industry.

Someday JUSTICE WILL BE SERVED! Either by the govt that is supposed to protect the people, OR BY THE PEOPLE THEMSELVES!

What they fail to realize is that there are 1000 times more of us than there are of them. That will one day come to bear.

I can't believe any brokerage would word a response that way.
