I didn't realize…Teoxane had right of first negotiation for Daxi in territories [where] they had commercial operation.
Right of first negotiation doesn’t mean that much in practice—RVNC could legally turn down a deal with Teoxane and ink an equivalent deal with another party as long as they talked to Teoxane first.
Nevertheless, Teoxane is a logical European partner for Daxi insofar as they have a commercial presence in the largest European countries and they have a competitive dermal-filler line (their own) for bundling.
Interesting to note how the 2008 recession hit aesthetics: elective procedures dropped 20-30%, per Foley [RVNC CEO], while neurotoxin dropped 5%, fillers 9%.
I know from following AGN at the time that these numbers are accurate.
…Gov. Brian Kemp announced at a news conference Monday steps to reopen Georgia's economy, starting this Friday.
…Employees at "gyms, fitness centers, bowling alleys, body art studios," as well as "barbers, cosmetologists, hair designers, nail care artists, estheticians, their respective schools & massage therapists," will be allowed to return to work on Friday but will have to operate under restrictions.
This is probably a bad idea, but it demonstrates the magnitude of pent-up demand for aesthetic treatments. People really care about looking good, even at a time like this.
