I don't understand the testing problems. Over the weekend the CDC raised the price it pays everyone for the abbott test from $51 to $100.

The clinics and hospitals are now saying that while they have abundant supplies they don't have qualified personnel to run the machines.

It's like watching a months long Keystone Cops Movie.

JBOG thanks for posting the info out of China
Ideally we can transition from mitigation to containment but as you say this will require a lot of testing and contact tracing

This is why testing has to be the highest priority. There should be a higher urgency for testing than respirators. To say we need more respirators is like saying we need more coffins.



We actually do need more coffins. I read even crematoriums are backed up.

We have no chance of stopping the pandemic unless we find those who are asymptomatic and infected...absent an effective vaccine of course.



Exactly. Sadly, this administration stopped the Federal testing program and threw that onto the states, which don't have the financial resources to do the large-scale testing.
