I'm sitting in the wireless (GSM/3G world) and waiting for the rest of you to catch up.

p2p distribution of data, with identification and authentication is done millions of times a day in 'my' world.

Of course, it's just a distributed smart card system that will be 'hardened' by inclusion of TCG sanctioned hardware.

But I have yet to get a message on my phone telling me I can refinance my mortgage at great low rates, or offering to add 3" to me...well, you know.

Alea I agree. I absolutely own my identity. Cyberspace makes the theft of it much easier than in the past. Until security is in place we remain vulnerable. Cringely's last three or four articles have focused on identity theft. At this point in time, if it happens there is little one can do about it. It is a huge headache to the victim as well as potentially expensive in money, time and reputation.
