Barossa cluster prompts new drive-thru clinic

A drive-thru COVID-19 testing station will open at Tanunda Hospital in the Barossa Valley, where health authorities have expressed concern about a cluster of 34 cases in the region.

The cases are linked to two groups of tourists from the US and Switzerland.

Health Minister Stephen Wade said the new service will be available to patients with a GP referral, and will allow them to get tested without getting out their cars.

"A clinic at Tanunda … opened on Monday, today a drive-thru clinic opens there to make it easier for patients to get tested and also to support the safety of staff," he said.
