#302133 RE: haber #302120

Some better data should be coming soon. Just today my state (Kansas) came out and said they expect to have 1000 tests per day ASAP and want to test symptomatic as well as a random assortment of asymptomatic people. My state currently has about 350 infected but rising fast so that 1000 tests will only cover the infected for the next week probably, but hopefully by then we will also be getting more than 1000 tests per day. Anyway they want to study how it spreads and things like that. That sort of data will also gives us a better idea of the number of asymptomatic people and, therefore, a more accurate death rate and thus how much panic we should actually feel about dying from it. He said sometime in the near future they also want to have t he ability to test for antibodies so we know who have been infected, but they aren’t there yet.

Bad day as USA had worst day for deaths yet (565). Turns out yesterday (363) was just an anomaly. Also most daily deaths across the world as a whole. But, the rate of increase of deaths has leveled off. It has stayed roughly the same for 10 days. Not as good as decreasing rate, as deaths are still compounding with a static death rate increase, but at least not doubly bad with compounding an increasing death rate.
