Why explain everything but what matters? The accumulated daily short figures for any stock ticker are completely meaningless. Anyone knowledgeable about trading knows this is a fact. Glaring in what is NOT discussed in your post, is an explanation of short INTEREST and how it plays into normal everyday trading. Both the daily and short interest numbers are provided by Finra. One can't give a representation of shorting without including both because the result would be misleading.
