Hold on there doc ... Defensin research in animals shows protective effect against SARS-CoV independent of direct antiviral activity - this is the argument that the immunomodulatory/antinflammatory may be primary Defensin (and hopefully BRI) mechanism against SARS-CoV. Google the theta Defensin SARS studies and you can read all about.
