There are plenty of other file management systems used for non-volatile memory. There is nothing particularly special about MicroOS (which is called the Norris Flash File System in the patent). Most devices don't make any big deal out of whatever file management technology is used.

IMO, MicroOS is something that e.Digital can make sound like it does all sorts of things it really doesn't do. The hype about MicroOS does not align at all with the claims made in the patent.

FWIW, I believe that e.Digital has developed several other technologies for customers under development agreements for which they were paid NRE fees. These are not proprietary technologies.
