Bro.

There can be fact or opinion. Nothing else is possible.

A fact is not an opinion.

It is not my opinion that I did some jumping jacks. It is a fact.

See?

Let's take a look at your quote:

A fact is a thing that is known to be consistent with objective reality and can be proven to be true with evidence

Note the word "can" not "must" be proven.

Certainly, my jumping jacks CAN be proven to be true, if I had video taped it. But just because I don't provide a video tape of my jumping jacks does not mean it is not a fact.

A stronger version of a fact is a verifiable fact. Maybe, you are looking for verifiable fact?

A stronger version of an opinion is a substantiated opinion. A substantiated opinion is substantiated by a series of facts which support the opinion.

A small group of shareholders own 50% or more shares.

That statement is a fact.

Must all facts be verified to YOU personally, for the statement to suddenly become a fact?

I did not know that one solitary person can be the only gatekeeper for a statement to be a fact.

What if that fact was verified among only the small group of shareholders simply sharing their positions as would be possible inside of any investment club?

They verified that fact...and it is a fact.

But just because it wasn't verified to you personally suddenly makes a fact revert to an opinion?

I don't think so bro.

If a tree falls in the woods and no one is there to see it happen, does that mean the tree falling in the woods did not happen? And so it's not a fact?
