Ironically, I first got interested in CHK when I found out they were going to invest $150 million (along with some other venture capital companies) in a company called Sundrop Fuels, that had a new technology for developing alternative fuels.
Sundrop was heavily promoted, and I had some correspondence with one of their executives a number of years ago.
The story sadly ended a couple of years later after Sundrop secured a location and started construction on the site.....it ended primarily due to the fact that it couldnt compete with low oil prices.
