Good work setting up the possible timeline, but my view is a lot simpler.
AMD taped out Barcelona (K8L) in August. I know of no brand new CPU architecture that has gone from tapeout to production in less than a year, so Q2 2007 is out. Add three months to that due to the fact that they're now only demoing Windows running Task Manager. I'm used to projects seeing that just a week after first silicon, not three months.
The health of the silicon would be a lot better now if they are even hoping for Q3 2007. Either AMD is in a lot of trouble, or AMD is throwing Intel a curve ball and is a lot further ahead than they care to admit. Obviously the 'Droids subscribe to the latter viewpoint, but you know they would ...
