Yes, she was most definitely the face of the company. IMO she poked the bear too many times and created more friction with government agencies than would have been created otherwise.
I imagine that she, the board, or both determined that it was in everyone's best interest if she stayed behind the scenes for a while, at least until the court appeals have run there course.
My guess is that once the dust has settled, she will again be the face of the company. Hopefully she'll have a bit more restraint when dealing with the government.
