Cotton, can you confirm you are a party to the appeal?
When you appeal the decision of a court case you first must apply to the court of appeals to hear your case. The courts don't want to be tied up on worthless cases of disgruntled losers so first you must prove there is a matter of law where the judge errored in deciding your case. This involves both sides filing briefs. The end of that process has ended now.
If the court decides the case is worthy of appeal it will give notice and docket the case under a new court case number. If not, your case is over.
I would think that the court would have a decision soon if they will hear the case. If they decide to hear the case, you are then put on the court calendar. In Georgia, from that point it can take 6 to 9 months. And then, they may send back to the lower court for the judge to review if the lower court judge ruled in conflict with the law. They order the lawyer court Judge (Chapman) to review the case gain and rule as to the court of appeals interpretation of the law.
My guess, the whole process will take about 1.5 to 2 years.
