One of the favorite slogans of yours and of your fellow 'new' NRA (they were initially pro-stricter gun laws), admirers is 'it's not the gun it's the user.' Well, you and Young should know school shooters using AR-15s are able to use them as efficiently as military people are trained to use M-4's and M-16s. So if they can be used as efficiently for all practical purposes, such as gun law safety, they should be seen as essentially the same gun.
The "100% military spec" is a tricky-dicky straw man argument. You didn't say 100% but that's what you and Young are using.
