These are much older patents that do not entertain the 15-100 nm "small" or "micro" liposome technology that can pass through the BBB - Blood Brain Barrier.

Subsequently, Elan Corp gets acquired by Perrigo in 2013 for an estimate of $8.6 Billion. Obviously, Elan isn't just made up of Liposome technology.
