ACNC opened Jan 2, 2019 trading at $17.55 and closed Friday, December 20 at $17.71. That, of course, ignores its hefty distributions including one coming up in a few days.
I don't know how much of that distribution has been merely return of capital.
"If we pay distributions in excess of our current and accumulated earnings and profits, such distributions will be treated as a tax-free return of capital to the extent of each stockholder's tax basis in our common stock and as capital gain thereafter. Stockholders will be notified of the proper tax characterization of AGNC Investment Corp.'s dividends by way of IRS Form 1099-DIV following the close of each tax year.
"Due to the complex nature of the applicable tax rules, it is recommended that stockholders consult their tax advisors to ensure proper tax treatment of dividends received."https://ir.agnc.com/stock-information/dividend-history
Yes the stocks you mentioned are doing very good but are at 52 week high if not 5 year high I think it would be foolish of me to try to enter the stock market at this time with With all time highs Agnc Percent gains are smaller but swings are less so it seems
