I'm not convinced record high shorting of QQQ's is contrarian. I think someone did a study this summer that showed it wasn't. I guess because it's an institutional vehicle to hedge.

Sherlock, I wouldn't base my entire position of the QQQ short position on what Schwab says or the press... There are plenty of shares available at other brokers and many others on these boards shorting qqq... I think data you see may be at least 30 days old or older... check it out.... There is no up to the minute short info. on exchanges that I have seen!
