Precisely, and precisely the kind of math sleuthing that eluded the poster you responded to. Good catch, Susie.

It strains credulity that so many Trump voters, who had an epiphany in '18 such that they wanted to arm the Congress with impeachment votes, would then revert to voting for the guy they just voted to endanger. Can't quite square that circle.

And I'm just not that certain that so many voters could suffer a stroke and then recover, so quickly and completely, to the lower levels of cognition and morality that had them voting for Trump and wanting to do so again.

I take that to mean that 1/3 of the voters who voted for him in 2016 won’t in 2020.

So the more sentient trumpanzees decided to put a bandaid on the broken system of checks and balances but still want trump. The third that doesn't will sit on their hands because whatever moved them to the dark side in the first place won't let them vote Democratic or 3rd party in the general. I'll put that down as a win
