There are articles on shorting a penny stock because penny pumpers want people to believe that it is real. A scapegoat is needed when the selling begins and the PPS starts a downward trajectory.
Nobody shorts a penny stock. It would be stupid to put $2.50 in a margin account for a couple pennies (max) of potential gain.
