Mar-Key most people are lazy. Isn't it easier to load the movie from one's computer onto a CD, provided it's fast, then just take it over to TV by the couch? Who would't want to do this instead of dealing with the mail and waiting for it. People want to watch a movie now, not wait a few days for one.
Also, the other point, isn't everyone in on the act now? New companies appearing constantly

They had a news report this morning here in NY on TV about 'The death of the dvd' They talked about direct downloads etc... but interestingly they ended up with the reporter sitting on her couch with a bowl of popcorn watching a dvd movie and making the point that that is the way people like to see their movies.

I do not doubt the strong possibility of VOD etc but I still think many people will still want the mailed dvd.
