YM, Never, in a long life of being threatened by the tax Nazis, have I seen involuntary withholding of taxes from items like this. I have always been given a form that permits me to opt out of withholding. And I've always opted out. I think this will have to be the case in this instance.
Assuming taxes will not be withhheld, how do you like the concept and the math? How can they withhold 28% when they odn't know whether the holding is long-term or less than a year? Something's screwy about that; I've heard someone say before they would withhold, but I think I'll go back to the csource document and see HOW they said it.
