My introductory package from when I returned to DirecTV (I went elsewhere for a few years) expired. I had everything during that year, but paired it way down when the deal ended. Going by what I watch, I went down to their "Entertainment" package, then added HBO, Showtime and Starz.
So now, I don't get all the extra ESPN channels and regional sports networks, nor even the NFL channel. I've not missed any of them.
Rain out has always been a problem down here in the sub-tropics because our raindrops are so big. It has seemed more sensitive to rain lately, but I don't know if that's for real, or just amplified by the pissed off feeling you get at that moment. It may be that you've just had a lot more rain this year during your viewing times.
I will agree completely that AT&T (Formerly known as Bell South) is just an awful company to deal with. Take heart though, they may spin off DirecTV again according to an article I recently read. We'll see.
