From the beginning of time there have been violent crimes with whatever tool was available.

We will never completely stop a person who wants to shoot a person, stab a person to death, poison a person, or kill them with their bare hands.

On the other hand, mass shootings in this country are increasing.

Nobody wants to take your handgun away from you if you have a license to carry it. We know how afraid some people are and having a gun is like having a teddy bear as a security blanket.

Nobody wants to take way the shotgun that you use to kill Bambi and her family.

The guns that need to be taken away are the ones that can kill massive amounts of people in under a minute.

I am pretty sure that those guns will also never be taken away from people because the Republicans need this particular “boogeymen” to keep the base in line. On the other side of the coin, the Democrats also need the flip side boogeyman to keep their base in line.

So what to do?

Background checks may deter the number of mass shootings. A background check may turn up mental illness issues. It may turn up abuse. It may turn up bullying. It may turn up other criminal activity.

Why is that a bad thing in your mind?

list, is that IF there were fewer guns there would be fewer accidental gun shootings.

And one MORE is that IF there were fewer guns then fewer responsible people would feel the need to have a gun in their home.
