That is a ridiculous statement that has absolutely no basis in reality.

If they had produced ANYWHERE near a ton, they would have PR'd it long ago (instead of the lame PR that came out yesterday).

In addition, yesterday's sad PR stated that they were NOT in production:

"...we are now ready to start the transition and expansion of our recombinant spider silk production..."
