In 1981, we (my wife & me) also tried Inter-Rail for a big trip Vienna-Munich-Paris-Marseille-Nice-Monte Carlo-Rome-Paris-Brussels-Amsterdam-Munich-Budapest. Then I was a real husband, so we didn't sleep on floor anymore, like a teenager! LOL That was great and free to decide where and when to go. (We changed Milan to Rome, because the train departed earlier!)
I hope we could do some trip after moving in new home!
