That is incorrect. Kim might DEFER some of his earnings, but that doesn't mean that he is forgiving the debt at all. He will be paid IN FULL (and then some). In addition, he is charging an interest fee to the company for this "service".
Think of it kind of like a credit card. You might not pay anything to your credit card for a few months, but when the bill comes due, you will be paying a lot more than you originally owed.
