I'm not disputing his dread of appearing but rather pointing out his demonstrated ability over many years to perform despite the dread.

That's what the people lamenting his performance this week remember about him.

Notwithstanding his performance he put statements on the record that contradict Trump's contra-factual claims and, by implication, also discredit Barr's snow job.

I see no contradiction in holding both views.

At family dinner last night, I lamented that children cannot vote even though global warming is the most important issue and will hit them hardest. (My son could easily live to see 2100.) We did note, however, that kids can donate.
