I haven't had a citation in over 20 years, actually my 9/11 moment was the day I was in the county courthouse for the things I'd rather not discuss now.
The sherrifs walked into every courtroom and told us all to go home. Lots of questions why???
As they herded us out like a fire drill, the only answer was to "go home and turn on your TV". I did and the rest is history.
anyhoo, If they'd have had all these fancy steering, stopping, starting cars back then, I probably wouldn't have been in court in the first place. ;-)
